Prep Time:
Good For:
Ingredients
1 pound Breakfast Sausage
2 tablespoons Butter
1 teaspoon Rubbed Sage
¼ teaspoon Red Crushed Pepper
1⁄2 cup All Purpose Flour
3 ½ cups Milk or Half & Half
½ teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
To Taste Salt
Step 1
In a medium size skillet or sauce pan on medium heat, add the pork and chop as it cooks in the same way you would brown meat for making chili or spaghetti sauce.
Step 2
As the meat is browning add the butter, sage and red crushed pepper.
Step 3
Once the meat is fully cooked, (DO NOT DRAIN ANY JUICES), but instead sprinkle the flour over the cooking meat and stir in.
Step 4
Cook, while stirring for 2 minutes, then slowly add the milk, (again, while stirring). Reserve some of the milk until the mixture comes to a simmer.
Step 5
Once the mixture comes to a simmer, if the thickness is to your liking, do not use the remainder of the milk. Otherwise add it all, and any additional you wish until the thickness of the gravy is to your liking.
Step 6
Season with the pepper and salt.
Step 7
Simmer one additional minute and serve over your warm biscuits.

A Little Story About This Dish…
Sausage & Biscuits is another amazingly simple recipe which can show off your newly made breakfast sausage.
Regarding the biscuit part, for this recipe, it’s probably not worth the time and effort to make the biscuits from scratch.
Any one of the store-bought mixes will do just fine. We DO however, suggest that they be freshly baked.
